By Steve Pike Ping Golf unveiled a variety of new products at its annual sales meeting. Among the Ping clubs are a K15 line of metal woods, hybrids and irons that the company calls "Straight Flight" technology, Anser Forged irons, S56 irons used by Louis Oosthuizen to win the Open Championship, new lines of Karsten and Scottsdale putters, and a line of women's clubs called "Faith."
The K15 line, which includes metal woods, irons and hybrids, looks like it will be the next great line of Ping clubs - and given the success of the G2, G5, G10 and G15 lines - is saying something.
The biggest reaction, however, is said to have come for the Karsten 1959 putter line, which is sure to be a hit with players and possibly with collectors. That date - 1959 - was the year Ping Golf founder Karsten Solheim introduced his first putter, called 1A, built in his garage in Redwood City, Calif.
The rest is golf equipment history. And few golf companies make history like Ping.
