BOCA RATON, FLORIDA (TICKER) -- Jerry Pate continued his fine play in 2008.

Pate fired a 5-under-par 67 for an 11-under 133 to lead through the second round of the Allianz Championship on Saturday.

Scott Hoch matched his 5-under 67 from Friday and is one shot back at 10-under 134 at the Old Course at Broken Sound.

Friday's co-leader Mark McNulty, heads a group of four that is tied at 9-under and last year's winner, Mark James, is grouped with three others at 8-under, three shots back.

The 54-year-old Pate, who is coming off a win at the Turtle Bay Championship two weeks ago, carded birdies at Nos. 6, 9 and 11 before his eagle on the par-4 13 left him at 5-under. After bogeying the next hole, the Macon, Georgia native finished the round with a birdie on No. 18.

Pate, who is looking for his third Champions Tour title, has 11 birdies through two rounds.

Hoch, who was tied for third on Friday and who finished second here last year, carded six birdies and a bogey at 13 for his score.

Bruce Lietzke, who is tied for third, Scott Simpson and Don Pooley all shot 7-under 65, to record the lowest scores of the day. First prize is $247,500.
