ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (Ticker) - The major golf organizationson Thursday announced they have agreed in principle to ananti-doping policy for golf on a global basis.
Organizations behind the policy are the PGA, European Tour, U.S.Golf Association, the LPGA Tour, Royal & Ancient Golf Club, PGAof America and Augusta National Golf Club.
The policy is expected to be coordinated worldwide, meaning thatif a player disciplined for an infraction, it would berecgonized by whatever tour the player is competing on.
An extensive list of banned substances includes anabolic agents,hormones, stimulants, narcotics, beta blockers, and maskingagents.
