KBS Tour Steel Shafts on a Roll at The Traveler’s Championship

BOULDER, Colo. - The winner of The Travelers Championship scored a tournament record 258 and his fifth PGA Tour win in just over a year.  In the same time period he has never missed a cut and has finished in the top-ten 12 times.  KBS Tour steel shafts have been his choice in irons for well over a year. Three other players at the Traveler’s using the KBS Tour shafts in their irons finished in the top 20.

Rob Cheng, Director of FST (Femco Steel Technology), the manufacturer of the KBS Tour steel shaft proudly states, “We offer special congratulations to the winner of The Traveler’s Championship. Our relatively new company has now enjoyed seeing our innovative KBS Tour steel shafts being used by winners of 14 PGA Tour events in less than 18 months.”

KBS Tour Steel shafts provide a fresh approach to steel shaft design. “We incorporated “moment of inertia analysis” in the shaft’s design method.” says renowned KBS shaft designer, Kim Braly, whose steel designs have won every major golf tournament in the world.
Braly further explains the KBS Tour steel shaft’s new popularity on tour: “Stability is an important element of club performance. The KBS Tour steel shafts provide stability by smoothly transferring energy from the hands to the club head. Technically, this is accomplished by reducing the mass and radius of each step in equal proportions along the shaft’s length.”

Manufactured by FEMCO Steel Technology (FST), KBS Tour steel shafts incorporate high-quality precision manufacturing processes which include: an exclusive “oil quench” tempering method that produces straighter shafts from butt to tip; a tapered tip construction that provides a solid metal-to-metal bond in the hosel and a tour-preferred feel; a higher-than-traditional center of gravity construction that allows for more club head mass; and shaft weight and frequency tolerances that ensure repeatability and precise club fitting.

Headquartered in Boulder, Colo., FEMCO Steel Technology (FST) is a leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of high-quality steel golf shafts, including the premium KBS Series of shafts.  Since 1949, FEMCO has remained committed to creating and providing high-quality and cost-effective steel products and services worldwide.
