Tour Edge is continuing its popular Exotics line with the new Exotics XCG-V Tour Spec fairway wood. The company says its engineers focused on reducing weight and optimizing weight distribution to create "the longest-hitting, best-feeling fairway wood in golf.'' To achieve these results, Tour Edge says the Tour Spec (suggested retail price $369.99) features a purpose-built titanium cup face, a light magnesium crown, and a heavy, high-density steel sole plate – a unique combination in club design. The magnesium crown and titanium cup face, according to Tour Edge, allow more of the clubhead’s weight to rest in the heavy steel sole. Tour Edge says the Tour Spec’s smaller pear-shaped head design, taller face, and perfectly executed weight distribution move the CG (center of gravity) location closer to the face for a more penetrating ball flight and tour-preferred trajectory. The heavy, high-density steel sole plate and its V-shape, Tour Edge says, shift more weight to the heel and toe to creates a deeper CG angle and CG point that help the club face square at impact with more force for a quick launch and longer, hotter, more accurate shots.
