Daiwa Golf Returns to U.S. Market

Built on revolutionary ideas and performance, world-renowned golf club manufacturer Daiwa Seiko Japan, Golf Division, has relaunched its ONOFF and GIII brands in the United States for 2008. The premium ONOFF and GIII golf clubs introduce a unique blend of form and function which deliver high-performance golf clubs for golfers with a flair for style.

ONOFF and GIII have been popular brands in Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia since 2000 and extremely competitive in the Japanese market where more than 30 golf brands — including many American brands — vie for market share. The Daiwa golf brands will be distributed by Daiwa Golf Company (USA), based in Cerritos, Calif. Distribution will begin late February 2008.

"The strong style statement and innovative technology behind the Daiwa ONOFF and GIII brands are guaranteed to produce some real excitement in the United States," says Mike Matheny, general manager of sales for Daiwa Golf Company (USA). "For example, a Ferrari is more than just a fast car, and a Rolex is more than just a good watch. These are style statements. We are committed to changing the way that golfers look at their equipment, not only as a means to a better golf game, but as an extension of their own individuality."

ONOFF clubs are engineered for performance, yet designed for style. Providing performance for low- to high-handicap golfers, ONOFF features cutting-edge technology, high-quality materials and presents some of the most exciting equipment coming out of the Asian market, including bags, balls, apparel and a full line of drivers, fairway woods, hybrids and irons.

One of the technologies introduced by the ONOFF series is the ONOFF Smooth Kick Shaft, a revolutionary carbon technique that surprised the golf industry. The Smooth Kick Shaft was developed to use a player's own flexibility to produce an explosive and highly accurate impact. Wound with a tight geometrical pattern, the shaft is perfectly balanced and torque consistent from tip to butt. This shaft is not just intended to have great driving distance, but also to seek the best possible feel from the club. The shaft includes a tungsten-filled tip to balance the club and provide an ideal swingweight for its player, particularly for iron clubs.

Similarly, the GIII "G-Three" golf clubs introduce a new level of technology and sophistication to the high-end golf market and delivers ultimate performance to golfers with slower, more deliberate swings. Both brands will also feature a wide variety of ladies equipment which is specially designed for stylish, modern, women golfers.

Matheny adds that all golfers look to enhance their enjoyment of the game, but Daiwa — which has manufactured premium golf equipment for more than 35 years — wants to appeal to golfers who also seek a sense of individuality and personal style in their game.
