Targeting what it calls "the average amateur player'' Bridgestone Golf is bringing updates to its e-Series golf ball line the company says is focused on optimizing trajectory to improve distance and accuracy.

"The entire e-series evolved from our learning about where players needed help in terms of ball-flight optimization. In the new e-series line we've made some significant modifications to make the balls even better at what they’re designed to do,'' said Brandon Sowell, Marketing Manager for Golf Balls at Bridgestone Golf.

The new e-series balls will be available beginning Nov. 1 and will carry a suggested retail price of $38 per dozen, meaning the street price will be around $26.99 per dozen.

Bridgestone Golf says each of the balls - e5, 36 and e7 - were designed from player input that included approximately 40,000 ball-fittings and "innumerable encounters" with golfing consumers.

The new e5 golf ball, according to Bridgestone, uses a two-piece urethane cover construction to help golfers who need more height to their shot trajectory. For the 2010 model, Bridgestone says it has incorporated a 326 dimple pattern with shallower and larger dimples, producing a higher trajectory than its predecessor.  In addition, the company says the new e5 has a large gradational compression core and soft tour caliber urethane cover. The result, according to Bridgestone, is longer distance off the tee with better spin control on and around the greens.

Bridgestone Golf says the 2010 version of the e6 golf ball - the most popular model in the e series - employs a newly enhanced Anti-Side Spin Inner Layer that kills excess spin for an even straighter and longer flight. In addition, Bridgestone says it has reduced the e6's compression by eight percent for better feel on chips and pitches.

Bridgestone says the new e7 benefits from a new proprietary Bridgestone Inner Layer formulation that makes the ball five percent firmer. This new Velocity Increasing Inner Layer along with a new higher speed Gradational
Compression Core, according to Bridgestone, combine to create a more piercing flight and better wind resistance resulting in even deeper distance off the tee.
