Aerotech SteelFiber composite iron shafts continued to top the money list this week with T2 finish at the Bob Hope Classic. One of golf’s most innovative shaft designs, SteelFiber shafts earned second-place through composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface.

The 2010 Bob Hope Classic runner-up played Aerotech SteelFiber i95 taper tip constant weight shafts in his irons, and shot a remarkable 34 birdies during the event. The strong finish continued a highly competitive hot streak that helped the five-year pro reach career-high earnings last year of nearly $2.5 million.

“Aerotech SteelFiber shafts have delivered one second- and one third-place finish in the first three tournaments of the 2010 PGA TOUR, and we’re very pleased with the strong showing,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “Unlike conventional graphite shafts, SteelFiber shafts feature a composite technology brings the material benefits of both steel and graphite together to create a perfect blend of power and stability, and golfers — professional and amateur alike — have discovered the consistency and feel of SteelFiber shafts.”

SteelFiber shafts feature a high-modulus graphite core and nearly 60 miles of steel fiber covering the surface of each shaft, providing golfers with the power of graphite and the stability of steel. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce a optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.

Specializing in uniquely engineered, performance-enhancing golf shafts, Aerotech Golf has supplied shafts to such renowned golf club manufactures as Cleveland Golf, Adams Golf, Fenwick, Srixon, Lynx, Zevo and Pure Spin among many others.
